Terrific video on FTR's site for a "scrambler" in the 60ies....
Don't miss the ending. It is a cliff-hanger!
Look at the quaint apparel. OMG. Helmets that look like what you would find in a kid's meal freebie at McD. No chin, elbow, shoulder, chest or knee protection.... (we don't need no stinking pads!). (Those high belts and suspender thingies look sexy though.)
Those fearless riders rode 400s and 500s that had the suspensions of lawn mowers!..... look at the way the bikes move under them..... the front end of the bike is trying to push the shoulder of the riders out of the sockets (*)... watch every bump..... lateral control of suspension zip nada....
no wonder they needed those kidney belts! assuming they had any kidneys left after the race.
.... after watching this movie I reached for an Aleve.... my body hurt just from watching!
* this reminded me of my beloved Honda 230F- a great bike except for not having suspensions. They are definitely needed at the Lease!
