This Saturday and Sunday will be the first weekend for Club members to begin preparing the course for our April 2 & 3 Hare Scramble! We are meeting on Saturday, March 5th, and Sunday, March 6th by 9:00 a.m. at Spencer Farms. The course was race ready prior to being postponed, so it shouldn't need near the amount of work as past events. Don't forget, these prep days will count towards your work credits and renewal cost reduction. We will be work each weekend in March, so don't hesitate to come out as much as you can.
If you’re new to all this, just show up with your bike or quad for now. If you have a hydration pack, bring it also. Don’t worry if you’re unsure what to expect, we’ll pair you up with a “seasoned” club member.
Directions: Same location as the Christmas Party. From I-10 West, exit at mile marker 350 (SR23). Take SR23 south 4.7 miles to Normandy Blvd (State Road 228). Right (west) on Normandy Blvd for 8.7 miles. Turn left (south) on CR 217. Take 217 for 2.8 miles. Turn right (west) onto the dirt road. You’ll see a red gate ahead, and a small windmill to the right. Close the gate once you’re through it; cows are roaming free! Take the first left. Parking is at the edge of the large field.
GPS coordinates for dirt road turnoff from CR217: N 30.163958 W 81.998547
Trail boss this year will be John Bekanich.
Once the plans for that day are complete, the property will be open for riding. This is only available for Saturdays and Sundays (no weekday riding).
Thanks everyone. See you this weekend
