Has anyone done the Keihin FCR carb conversion on their DRZ 400S?
Is it worth the effort and money?
Would the FCR or Lectron carb be better?

I installed a Keihin CVK40 on mine with good results.

Thanks for the reply Johnnyb300. I had not thought about the CVK 40.
My DR is a stock 2012 with the 3x3 mod and a JD Jetting kit. I would like a little more throttle response and low to mid power. I want to do a performance pipe and carb mod but not wanting to go inside the engine.
Any riding impressions with the CVK40 over stock would be much appreciated.

I was pleased with the results, but note that I installed a FMF Power Bomb header with the Q4 S/A muffler prior to the CVK. The FCR is a better carb and has the accelerator pump, but for the slight difference in throttle response and especially the cost, I went with the CVK40 from a used KLR650 off EBAY. Snappier down low and middle, and a little more on top. Neither carb is plug and play, but it's not brain surgery either. Any mods to the DRZ400 won't make it a firebreather, but you'll definitely notice the difference with a full (not just a slip-on) aftermarket exhaust and well jetted FCR or CVK, and even the JD kitted stock BSR36. I'm not familiar with Lectron, but it seems guys either love them or hate them. Here's a link on FCR vs CVK. thumpertalk.com/forums/topic/1103884-cvk40-vs-fcr39-carbs/
