Thanks for the reminder Mundy. January 18th and 19th, 2014 From the Broxton Bridge web page.... Page link: LINKSignup sheet: SIGNUP SHEETJanuary 18th and 19th. Join us at Broxton Bridge Plantation for a 2 day dual sport in the South Carolina Low Country! Trails will vary from enduro grade single track, to 4ft bush hog trail, to dozer width horse paths. Make sure to save a few minutes to walk the Civil War Confederate earthworks where the Battle of Broxton Bridge was waged. Jerry Varn, owner of the plantation, is famous for burning a huge bonfire in a steel bowl that was once the cupped end of a railroad tanker car. Good place for choice beverages and reliving the day’s ride… Broxton Bridge offers 135 camper hook-up sites, 30 and 50 amp service, as well as primitive camping sites. We even have a special area set aside for those who feel the need to run generators. Hopefully that area will be empty, the peace and quiet despite a full trailhead is something to behold! Bath house and food service will be on site. For those with more delicate sensibilities, the Plantation also has a bed-n-breakfast. Contact Broxton Bridge for more info, or to make reservations at www.broxtonbridge.comWhile you can sign up at the event, pre registering will help us plan for food service. Download the PDF flyer here. Note the 250 rider limit, and free t-shirt for those who pre-register!!!

This D/S will cover 2 days. Mileage on day 1 is 80-90, and day 2 is 50-60. The trail / road ratio is about 70%. Trails range from S/T to jeep roads. A change from last year is the length of some of the trail sections. Riders last year complained that the longer trail sections, some in the 10 - 15 mile length, were too long and seemed "enduro like". Family Riders responded by breaking the longer trail sections into 2 pieces. Also, some additional work has been put into the 600 acre riding area (this was the virgin pine forest trail at the end of the D/S 2 years ago that was well liked). The exact mileage hasn't been measured as of last weekend. Will update if / when I get more details. If you have questions, post 'em here and I'll try to get answers.
