Many of us have RV's and trailers and use our generators at events...my carbon monoxide alarm recently started beeping. I thought it was to change the battery; it was to change the entire alarm. I didn't realize they are only good for about 5 years. You can easily spend $60-80 or more to get a new one, so I thought I'd share this link, where I replaced the one that was exactly what I already had about half that. $30 is a small, small price to pay to know you won't die in your sleep from carbon monoxide in the next 5 years. store.qginc.com/costar-9v9.htmlI also recently purchased a Genturi system, which is essentially a vent tube that mounts on the side of your rv (you can use velcro) and helps direct generator exhaust away from where it gets more easily sucked into living quarters. There are plenty of links online with ideas on how to build your own, but they are only $90-112 on Amazon. Again, not much to pay to save your life, right? www.amazon.com/Camco-44461-Gen-Turi-Generator-Exhaust/dp/B000BUU5XGWith the lull in the racing season, this is a great time to check your alarms...you also likely have a smoke alarm or two, and maybe a propane alarm. Let your fingers do the walking, and you can have new ones on the way with very little effort.
