In another thread, Mundy posted: Sulphur powder mixed with a little baby powder and pour into sock, tie knot in top and dust your clothes, boots will keep chiggers and ticks off. All natural, works on pets too. We used sulphur powder in a sock years ago when I used to volunteer at Tree Hill, and in Scouts. I haven't bought any recently, but I used to buy it at a pharmacy. Some people believe sulphur also works well for ticks…I don't much like either, so wanted to share this article: www.motherearthnews.com/natural-health/tick-prevention-zmaz10jjzraw.aspx?PageId=1#axzz2ypZcDXeFThere are several tools available in sporting goods stores, usually with their camping and/or hunting gear, that are cheap, and great to remove ticks. Some pet stores carry them to help remove ticks for dogs, but the tools work no matter if you have two legs or four. For example: www.ticktwister.com
