On 5-6 March 2016, Round 1 of the GNCC Series will take place at the Rodman Plantation.
"After returning to Palatka, Florida for the first time since 2004, the 2015 edition of the Wild Boar GNCC made for one of the most popular opening GNCC rounds of all-time. This event is held at the Rodman Plantation, which is popular for hosting weddings, turkey hunts and more. However, don’t let the beauty of the Rodman Plantation fool you.
The Wild Boar course is just about what you would expect from a GNCC event in Florida. This course sees loamy, sandy soil, mixed with black dirt and of course, a few tough mud holes to contend with. As with most sand tracks, the course gets rough as the race wears on, so make sure to stay in shape over the winter, as it’s a tough first round. The trails here have a good fun flow to them and you range from slow tight sections, to fast flowing sections and more.
While there’s not many of the dreaded palmetto roots at the Wild Boar, the sections of planted pine trees will also add another tough, but fun and unique challenge to the course. All-in-all, Wild Boar offers up a variety of fun, yet challenging terrain and promises to be a great way to start the season.
The Rodman Plantation is a nearly 6,000 acre working cattle and timber plantation."
