August meeting is when members are nominated for the Board of Directors, 2 vacancies to fill --Secretary, and President. Don't know if current Board will stay the same. We need members interested, to step up and maintain a full Board in order to keep the club functional. As long as you have support it's not that difficult. Wouldn't hurt to have some more FTR racers input and participation. With the current "covid thing" going on, we are getting stagnant and could use some revitalization. Anyone who sees this in time and can post on Facebook, please do so. thanks.

September meeting is the most important one of the year! Elections, upcoming events, status of club, expected renewals from members (cost versus work day credits), news of future possible properties, and catch up with friends. Stay tuned here.

Just held elections, will be updated once we learn how to spell some last names. Membership renewal is a high priority--- we need people to respond/ seekout / inform/ smoke-signal your intentions on continuing with the club , not just as a member ,but actually participating in events, planning, racing, family members, etc. The past year , the communication has been disjointed, so to speak, and we are trying to get caught up. Nov. 21 is our enduro slated for St. Mary's Shoals Park. Just like last season, we're planning on that if mother nature allows. This will allow you to see and ride some areas off-limits the rest of the year, and there is lots to see! Scroll thru other posts for more info. "who wants to ride" is where latest news is. Questions call me 904-465-2013 (El Presidente) is back.

From: "El Presidente" As a long time, member, I've seen lots of ups and downs with the club, BUT I'm sure no one was expecting such a worldwide turn of events! It has thrown everything out of whack, including club membership. Membership Renewals October is renewal month, and regardless of your status, you need to respond, any way you can, with a "notice of intent" as to the future of your membership. Email: rcdrjax@gmail.comContact form on website: rcdr.org/contact-river-city-dirt-riders/Comment on Facebook: www.facebook.com/rcdrjax/Comment on the Forum: rcdr.proboards.com/thread/826/membership-rates-perks Fees have been lowered, more perks will be available, and more riding opportunities are opening up as we speak. Club Ride Day We're planning a membership drive /ride day @ St. Mary's Shoals, Oct. 23 (weather permitting), this will be the first cut-off date for sorting thru inactive members, similar to what we've done in the past. If we get no positive response, by Nov. 1st, then you will be considered inactive and all your info will be deleted. Club Forum Many of the activities and news have been regularly posted on the RCDR forum. Look at it as the most recent and up-to-date info. You don't need to register to read the forum. rcdr.proboards.com/The BOD is normally pretty accessible for communications, so respond with your intentions, ASAP! Spread the word! Thanks, Mundy

From: EL PRESIDENTE The club renewal month has come and gone, and we still have some MIA's which we have not heard from. After the enduro this weekend (more on that) we will start eliminating non-renewed members names from the active list, and you will stop receiving club e-mails. It's up to every member to make sure your info. is up-to-date, and your work credit days are recorded. Our membership chairman should have time to check your info. and update your status (as long as it doesn't interfere with event tasks). Our inaugural St. Marys Shoals Enduro is on Nov. 20/21. That's right, it is here!! This is a "TIMED EVENT" and riders coming to participate are "COMPETITORS" We have been keeping our tongues tied by using certain terminology due to this being a county-owned public riding park, but yet has some oversight by the state. Therefore, we do not use the "R" word, track, "R" course, just COMPETITOR or PARTICIPANT or TRAIL or LOOP. RCDR shirts may be worn if they DO NOT say "TRACK CREW"! I know it may seem nitpicky, but we want to continue using this venue for future events, ride days and club picnics. As of now, I intend to be out there Saturday, ATV parking lot, near club trailer, setting up sign-up, signs for the event, lighting, etc. plus making sure all tools and material are available for trail crew. Unfortunately, our food vendor fell through, so I suggest you eat a good breakfast both days, bring lunch for Saturday, Sunday we will provide BBQ (whoopee) lunch and drinks. This is just a general overview and will let Barry Miller (enduro chairman) interject his important topics. Take it away Barry! From: ENDURO LEAD, Our enduro is THIS WEEKEND! WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Anyone can help (family, neighbors, kids). Roles include: Registration, checkpoint workers, course marshals, shirt sales, parking, bike/rider recovery, food, ............. Here are all the details you need: Let the gate attendant know you are there to volunteer with the club. Prep day (start at 8:30 am) 11/19 (Friday) 11/20 (Saturday) Event day: (Start at 7:00 am) 11/21 (Sunday) EVERYONE NEEDED!! What to bring: • Bike, Quad, SxS, Bicycle, or just your vehicle • Chair • Shade • Lunch, water, and snacks will be provided Sunday Location: OHV/ATV parking area at St Mary's Shoals county park. 7867 Odis Yarborough Rd, Glen St Mary, FL 32040 goo.gl/maps/ThAKzrdtz3gCbUyj9

From "EL PRESIDENTE" Yesterday, 11/28/2021, was the final clean-up of Horse trails @ St. Mary’s Shoals Park. The trails on that side are strictly OFF-LIMITS to ALL club members on ATV/OHM/SxS's until we have a planned club function, with permission from park officials. There is no reason for any club members to venture over to that side unless hiking, bicycling, or riding your horse (if you have one). Since I have informed them and the club, they will be able to monitor illegal activity more closely. Park infractions can include --NO TRESPASS order with up to 6 months ban from the property. Disregarding this notice by a club member, could damage the RCDR reputation, be subject to the same ban, and possible expulsion from the club (as per by-laws) I know it sounds harsh, BUT the club has worked for about 1 1/2 years to get to this point. PASS THIS ON TO OTHER MEMBERS. On the ATV side, timber cutting was still evident, and I am awaiting some more definite news from members riding out there, assessing trails. Somebody keep me informed! There are no planned club workdays in the near future. Anything such as remarking trail, re-routes, etc. will be members own undertaking. Only major tasks with club property are, re-organizing the enclosed trailer, body repair, and wiring, and total rewire of the open trailer (harness in the toolbox). If this is performed and verified by a Board member, then proper credit will be given. Dec. 14th is our next meeting. A lot to discuss-- membership #'s, overall event experience, state of H/S in FTR., Picnic? LAND-LAND-LAND. Feel free to contact me-- Mundy 904-465-2013. (If voice mail, leave a callback #.)
